On Wednesday 17 January 2024, Hannele Arvonen took up her new duties as chairman of both well-established forest funds, Silvestica Green Forest. The funds’ land holdings currently amount to a total of approx. 140,000 ha spread over Sweden, Finland and the three Baltic countries, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
Hannele Arvonen has a solid forestry background with several leading positions in the forest industry, where i.e. Metsä Board, Iggesund, Holmen, Setra and Sveaskog can be mentioned. Hannele is passionate about the forestry industry and wants to contribute to the fantastic potential for sustainable business development where you balance the different benefits of the forest and create long-term value.
Please read the article about Hannele published in the Finnish newspaper Maaseudun Tulevaisuus.
We are very happy to have been able to engage Hannele as chairman of our exciting business. Plans for the future are for the funds to continue to develop in the same successful way as until now, with the focus on an even more developed practice such as as is based on all the good environmental conditions of the forest, where the energy issue will also become increasingly important. Silvestica has already entered into significant establishment agreements regarding solar and wind power, which may result in large electricity production in the future.
Hannele succeeds Ola Hildingsson, who with his solid experience and knowledge contributed to the highest degree in building up Silvestica.
At the same time, we would like to take the opportunity to thank outgoing chairman Ola Hildingsson for a job well done during the rapid and successful establishment of the funds in recent years.
